Letter, 1785 November 25, [Paris, France], to Tho[mas] Randolph, n.p.

Expresses regret at hearing of Randolph's poor health, which is such that he is compelled to convalesce in Europe; recommends either Edinburgh or Rome--the former has the advantage of the same language, but the latter will cultivate the "talents with which nature has endowed you"; encourages him to be honest and industrious; apologizes for being preachy--"it is the privilege of years."
